This is why I have absolutely no patience for white men complaining about how their long hair isn’t socially acceptable—Native men were banned from having their hair long on threat of death, and for Native peoples, long hair has cultural significance that goes beyond the typical white dude’s aesthetic interest in growing his hair out. Asian men also forcibly had their hair chopped off (re: Chinese in California, for example), and there’s a long history of stigma against men with afros; for MOC to have their hair grown out is, while an aesthetic choice, also a cultural choice and in many cases can be seen as part of the day-to-day struggle against racism and colonialism. Long hair just does not carry that meaning for white men, and I’ll be damned if I’m gonna sit there and listen to them complain about how marginalized they are because they choose to have long hair because they think it looks cool (and let’s face it: they’re bitching because women don’t wanna date them—which could be for any number of reasons, or they’re whining about other more wealthy and powerful white men not taking them seriously; I don’t give a fuck about any of those struggles).

Not to mention the fact that white men created the very same system of sexist heteropatriarchy which defined long hair as feminine and made it socially unacceptable to the general populace in the first place. You don’t get to systematically destroy and marginalize an entire gender, assign that gender narrow physical characteristics and ideals of beauty, reappropriate and reuse those beauty ideals (usually feeding from racist romanticized colonial ideals of Nature and indigenous peoples anyways), and then complain because people don’t like your choice of hair style, like somehow you, the white dude, could ever be marginalized in any context.

I received a call today from a blocked number, who claimed they were from Windows Security Center. The person on the phone - who had a very heavy accent - said that they had noticed that my computer had been downloading malicious content while I was browsing the internet _{(which how could they even fucking know in the first place)}. He then asked me to turn on my computer _{(which it already was, but that’s besides the point)} and told me to click and hold the Windows key and the ‘R; key, which opens up the Run window. He then wanted me to enter the following: eventvwr (this stands for “event viewer” which lets you see info about hard/software, system problems, and security on your OS).

This is where I hung up.

Because, you see, what this asshole didn’t know is that my dad is and IT guy, so I know a few tricks. What he was trying to do was gain remote access to my computer, but do I look like a bitch? _{Don’t answer that.}

Unfortunately, some people are - that’s why I’m making this post, so you don’t end up being anybody’s bitch. And it’s not like these assholes just sprang up yesterday; according to my extensive Google research _{(it wasn’t that extensive, I just like being dramatic)} they’ve been around at least since 2009.

This is Heather and Kaleb, two of my best friends in the world and probably the greatest parents I’ve ever seen in my life. Their daughter was to be named Marceline Florence and would have been the cutest little kid ever I swear to god, but a day past her due date Heather went in for a doctors appointment and they told her that they couldn’t find her daughters heartbeat. Two ultrasounds later it had been pretty much confirmed that Marci was to be stillborn and I saw my best friend who has never let a bad thing get her down in her whole life, break completely.
Heather and Kaleb did everything they were supposed to, she took all her prenatals every single day for 9 months, she never had anything that was caffeinated, she ate healthy and stayed away from people who smoked and Kaleb was so attentive towards her and the baby. Anything she needed he’d be up and running before she had a chance to stand, he went out and got two jobs to support his little growing family. They would have been great, but the day after her due date when Heather went in to the hosipital, Marci was really active that night and the next morning and somewhere in all her turning she twisted the wrong way and wrapped the umbilical cord around her neck.

This afternoon I have to go to a funeral for my goddaughter and I can’t do it, guys. I have to watch my best friends in the entire world, the sweetest kindest people who never deserve something like this happening, bury their daughter who didn’t even get to see the world. And they can’t even afford her headstone.

I don’t reblog these things or signal boost them or anything usually but guys we’re desperate. Tumblr can unite to do great things and I’m asking you to please, from the bottom of my heart, donate what you can spare to help them. If you can’t, that’s no problem, then signal boost the hell out of this.

Cause I can’t help her and that hurts, so Cassi and I are trying to do all we can for them because nobody else ‘helping’ is trustworthy.

I know you probably see these every day all over your dash and I’m sorry that this is another to add to the list but if you could only spare even a dollar or two, every little bit helps! They don’t have insurance and their family can’t help them, so it’s up to us Tumblr!
